RACINE, Wis. (CNN/CNN Newsource/WKRC) - A zoo's beloved giraffe named "Jabari" tragically died after falling in his holding area. A beloved giraffe at the Racine Zoo has died, officials announced.

The first giraffe born in the Western Hemisphere was born in Cincinnati in 1889. In 1978, the first building devoted to insects in any U.S. Zoo opened.
