PIAA ruled a double forfeiture for a boys basketball playoff game that ended when a brawl that began in stands and flowed onto court.

The PIAA censured Uniontown Area High School and Meadville High School for their actions, saying both schools will be removed from next year's tournament unless each submits a plan to prevent another altercation in the future.

Meadville and Uniontown’s PIAA state playoff contest ended with violence in the stands on Friday night, leading to an early end to the game.

"Due to an unfortunate incident that occurred during last night's boys' basketball game, the game was brought to an early conclusion. While we regret this unexpected ending, the safety and well-being of players, fans, and staff remain our top priority," said a spokesperson for Meadville Area Senior High School.
