Can those who have had a trapeziectomy tell me what the average recovery time is, please? I'm retired, so don't have to worry about work, but I'd like to have some idea how long I'm going to be one-handed, if I decide to go along with the surgery.

2020年11月18日 · I hope your surgery went well. Regarding the pain medication: my surgeon gave me enough to last until the hard cast was removed. About two weeks after my surgery. I agree with the side effects. My surgery was 5/5/21. I am experiencing ligament swelling on top of my hand just above where the joint was removed.

Between the fracture and surgery it was 5 months of being one-handed but surgery was definitely worth it. I drove 2 days after surgery (once pain meds were out of my system) and also drove myself to ER with the wrist fracture.

I am having surgery February 21. the doctor is doing the same surgery that Drew Brees had. he expects a good outcome especially since I don't throw a football. I will not have to have a cast. I will have a splint the whole time. after I get my stitches out at 10 days I can actually take the splint off to shower. we will see.
