He is a wild type axolotl and I read somewhere that their colors can change slightly with age. I also read that it could be scar tissue which might make sense cause when i got him he had damaged gill and a damaged fin.

2021年2月15日 · The white spots look like pigmentation. Wild types tend to develop brighter and darker spots with age. The rest of the axolotl looks much more concerning, especially the gills but also the bloat. Questions above are good questions.

Shedding skin can appear as white stringy substance. When salt bathing him, are you leaving him in for 10-15 minutes only? If more than 15 minutes, the salt will start to damage the skin and gills.
