The BTC/CoinX ratio is 10,000. If on day 10 the BTC/USD ratio is still 20k from trading sideways and CoinX has mooned to 5$...the BTC/CoinX ratio is now only 4,000.

It is still better to use USDC if only because you will get a 5.10% APY and it is better to use Coinbase advanced because you will pay less fees in each trade let alone pay the actual crypto price unlike if you use Coinbase simplified where they tack on a 1.00% spread.
