I worked at place where the head chef was from philly and he had one on the menu...it was ridiculous. it was eye of round sliced super thin like a 2 or under on the deli slicer, same with the onions, then throw the meat and onions on the flat top with clarified butter salt, lots of salt, and pepper.

Just here to say that if you get a cheesesteak, and it has lettuce, tomato, mayo, and raw onions, it's not a cheesesteak. It's a cheesesteak hoagie. Moved here from PA 5 years ago, and every place wants to put the above ingredients on a cheesesteak, but traditionally, they're just steak, cheese, and fried onions(if you're into onions).

I feel like there is no cheesesteak place in Reading Terminal that is very well-regarded, even though there are a couple of them that I guess try to get tourists. There are some other really good non-cheesesteak options there though that some other comments have covered. If you insist on a cheesesteak, Cleaver’s is not far and pretty good.
