(with F.W. Maitland, 1895), and for his correspondence over 60 years with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes.

Sir Frederick Pollock (1845–1937) was educated at Eton before going to Trinity College, Cambridge. He was admitted to the bar in 1871 and to the Privy Council in 1911. He taught at the University of Oxford from 1883 to 1903, where he was a Fellow of Corpus Christi College.
