Community powered journalism for a better Cleveland. Clevelanders, get ready for a first-of-its-kind milestone: the commissioning of the USS Cleveland, a Littoral Combat Ship that will carry our city’s name, pride and community spirit around the world.

The Land is a local, nonprofit news organization that reports on Cleveland’s neighborhoods. Through in-depth solutions journalism, we aim to foster accountability, inform the community, and inspire people to take action.

Since late 2021, The Land has been educating Greater Clevelanders on how to report on their neighborhoods.We’ve educated more than 100 students and published more than 150 articles by Community Journalism graduates.

2025年1月24日 · The Land’s community journalism program is a free, 12-week training and mentoring program that begins with a series of training sessions, includes support from a professional editor, and concludes with a community journalist’s published article in The Land along with a $300 stipend for doing the work.
