Australian Native Bee 🐝 Survival Hack🦘The are 2000 species of native bee in Australia. This one is Tetragonula carbonaria (quite common).🔎 They’re hard to find in the bush because they’re tiny (smaller than a bush fly) and hive entrances are camouflaged.🍩 Aboriginal people often refer to the honeycomb as sugar bag. It was a highly prized food. They sometimes stuck a feather to a bees back so they could more easily follow it back to the hive. I’ve tried but haven’t succeeded with this method

My goal was to build on my survival skills and confidence in the bush, given I am travelling in some very remote areas in Australia.
