This week, Tibetan monks have returned to create an intricate mandala in sand at the Florida CraftArt Gallery📍501 Central Avenue. The event lasts through January 13. And every day through then you can watch the monks create the stunning Wisdom mandala in millions of grains of sand. This is open to the public from 10:30am to 4pm. Tibetan monks sand mandala ritual. Sand painting is an ancient Tibetan art form. It is carefully constructed from dyed sand particles to represent the particular esoteric, textual traditions of Buddhism. It is a transient art form, thought to have originated in India and been transferred in the middle ages to Tibet.
